Donegal a great place to live, work and do business - Chief Executive Donegal County Council, Seamus Neely with the Cathaoirleach, Cllr Ciaran Brogan and special guest Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh of Altan at the launch

The launch of the Donegal Prospectus video yesterday (Monday 28th September), by the Cathaoirleach Cllr. Ciaran Brogan, marks the latest step in the Council's campaign to promote Donegal as a great place to live, work and do business.

“This video, which has been already view more than 11,000 times on the Council's You Tube channel, captures the essence of the Donegal that we as business owners, employers, employees, families and residents of the county know and love” said the Cathaoirleach Cllr. Ciaran Brogan.

“This video takes us on a trip around Donegal, presenting the county to the global business community as an excellent location for their business operations and highlights a range of international and local companies already operating successfully in and from Donegal.  The video also profiles local services such as transport, recreational opportunities, health and educational facilities and demonstrates the wonderful quality of life available to people and families who are thinking of making Donegal their home.”

Chief Executive Seamus Neely thanked everyone involved in making this video saying “producing this video has been a team effort from start to finish and I am delighted that many of the companies and organisations that were involved in the production have been able to join us here this morning.”

He also acknowledged the presence of Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh saying “we also have the face of the Donegal Prospectus video - Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh of Altan with us today and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mairead for her enthusiastic input and her professionalism in making the video.  Mairead’s genuine love for, and pride in her county is clearly evident from the video and this instils a sense of pride in all of us from the outset”.

He added: “Altan has kindly offered to take the video on tour with the band and this in itself will mean that the DVD will reach huge audiences around the world.  We would like to extend our gratitude to Altan as ambassadors of Donegal, in helping to share our message”.

The video will complement the recently produced brochure as important tools in the campaign to attract inward investment; to create jobs and promote economic development and; to reach out to members of the diaspora and to anyone with an interest in or a connection to Donegal.

The video is available at the link below and on the Council's website and social media platforms including Facebook and You Tube.
